There\u2019s no doubt you can earn a lot through various platforms that I\u2019m about to share, but it\u2019s worth noting that the industry has become more saturated over the years. While this article highlights some of the top platforms, many others are still worth exploring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Top Platforms to Teach English Online:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Preply<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>iTalki<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BlingABC<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cambly<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>OETJobs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Get Started<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Before diving in, you\u2019ll need a TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Some platforms don\u2019t require it, but having one gives you a competitive edge. There are free options, but I got mine at a discount from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.daddysdeals.com\/\">Daddy\u2019s Deals<\/a>, which is another route you can explore. Keep in mind that some platforms may also require a Bachelor\u2019s degree, teaching qualifications, or experience, but don\u2019t let that discourage you\u2014many don\u2019t!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Platform Breakdown:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Preply<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Preply is beginner-friendly, requiring no degree or teaching experience. As long as you have good English skills, a laptop, and a stable internet connection, you\u2019re good to go. The biggest advantage? You set your own rates. But here\u2019s the catch\u2014when I raised my rates, I stopped getting bookings. Plus, your first class with a student is unpaid, which can be frustrating. That said, Preply doesn\u2019t discriminate much, so give it a try <a href=\"https:\/\/www.preply.com\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>iTalki<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Many rave about iTalki, but my experience wasn\u2019t great. I\u2019ve applied over 20 times and never got accepted, so I can\u2019t personally share its pros and cons. However, they do allow reapplications immediately, and you need a TEFL and a Bachelor\u2019s degree to be considered a professional teacher. Apply at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italki.com\">iTalki<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>BlingABC<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>BlingABC offers the best pay rates I\u2019ve seen, but patience is key. My application took 12 months to process, and the interview process spanned two months. Their base rate is $7.50 for a 30-minute class, but even after being assigned 52 classes, they canceled them with no clear explanation. If you\u2019ve got time to spare and meet their requirements (TEFL + Bachelor\u2019s degree), apply <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blingabc.com\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cambly<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Cambly is popular because it doesn\u2019t require a degree or experience\u2014just native English fluency. With a base rate of $10 per hour, it\u2019s worth applying. However, despite applying multiple times through different email addresses, I never got a response. It seems many others have had similar experiences. Try your luck at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambly.com\">Cambly<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OETJobs<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This site lists numerous platforms for teaching English, both online and abroad. It\u2019s a great resource if you\u2019re interested in exploring a wider range of opportunities. Check it out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oetjobs.com\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Thoughts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TEFL is still a solid way to make money online, but competition is fierce. Make sure to get your TEFL certification, and don\u2019t be discouraged if one platform doesn\u2019t work out\u2014there are plenty more to explore.
